Within the first five years of my life, I moved five times. I have lived in New York, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Ohio. When I was in kindergarten, we arrived in Ypsilanti, Michigan, were I still reside today. I have a younger sister, Katie, who makes me a better person each and everyday. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, with a focus on mathematics and science, at Eastern Michigan University. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Technology through Michigan State University.
As a teacher, it is my belief that every child can succeed. As an educator, it is my job to facilitate both academic and social growth of my students. I facilitate academic successes in my classroom by meeting the different needs of each of my students. I foster social growth by keeping my classroom full of respect and developing a relationship with each student I work with. Developing relationships allows me to get to know my students on a deeper level. It also allows me to gain their trust and respect. My classroom is built on respect. Respect for each other is what makes my classroom and fun and exciting place to learn.
This upcoming year will be my third year teaching. I teach 2nd grade at East Arbor Academy, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I’m very lucky I am able to give back to the community in which I grew up in. I love every moment of working with my students. The challenge of each day being different keeps my job fun and exciting. In my class, we learn together!!
